Achillea Ptarmica

Written by David Dahlson | August 27, 2024

Achillea Ptarmica is an herbaceous plant from the Old World, though it has naturalized in some regions of the USA. It had colorful names such as Sneezewort, Goose Tongue, and my personal favorite "Fair-Maid-of-France".

This commercial variety is called "The Pearl" and has a fully double flower and was developed by Kolster in Holland. I highly recommend this useful and versatile filler flower, which has a wide variety of applications, and is incredibly strong and hardy. While its disposition is soft and romantic, with a charming bucolic look, the flower is robust, and ideal for summer weddings.
