As you probably know, we are a huge proponent of education, and strive to be a leader in the industry when it comes to providing resources to help florists grow successful businesses. Aside from the Mayesh Design Star workshops that we put on, we love to support our customers who are also taking the time to put on classes and provide educational workshops to fellow designers.

One of those designers is Rebecca Hawkin of Bird & Bumble in Milwaukee, who dreamt up February's FLORIST IN BLOOM workshop after recognizing the need for education in the midwest.

Let's learn a bit more about how Florist in Bloom came to life from Rebecca herself!

FLORIST IN BLOOM, was created out of need and necessity. Too long the midwest has been overlooked as a viable community for high-end workshops. So many of my peers travel annually to the coasts for professional development spending thousands of dollars to be exposed to the newest trends and techniques. We are parched for fresh input and long to be included in the greater creative conversation. Trust me, I am from a "flyover" State, but have spent five years in New York City, five more in Germany and one in Italy. I know what is out there and what is here. After much consideration, I decided to combine skills from my former 10 year career in Education with my new floral ventures and create a professional development workshop for florists. The aim was to draw from a more midwestern based community of designers to educate those working in our market. FLORIST IN BLOOM is a curated, intimate experience for artists looking to hone their craft and develop their visual voice. We were lucky to have attendees from five states, ranging from brand new to 30+ years experience.

We're thrilled to share the absolutely dreamy images from Wisconsin photographer Stephen Booth of Booth Photographics, featuring Kelly Lenard of Intertwine as the featured designer & teacher, the students' work and a whole lot of Mayesh Luxe Blooms!
