If you're a customer at one of our physical branches or follow us on Instagram, chances are you've already seen these fun facts! We've had so much fun compiling these and digging through old photos throughout the month, and realizing just how far we've come in forty years!
For those of you who don't know about Mayesh's history, Roy & Gerrie Dahlson purchased the company back in 1978.
During that first year, there were only four employees, all from the Dahlson family: Roy, Pat, Tony & Cindie. They had owned a mom 'n pop flower shop previously so they had a little background with flowers, but owning a wholesale business was a whole new ball game. They had their spot on the Los Angeles Flower Market, and their main "office" was the upstairs room at the Dahlson's home. Pat, Tony & Cindie were only three out of nine children, so one by one they all ended up joining the family business at one point or another. Mayesh began expanding in 1985 when they opened their second location in the San Fernando Valley, and from there they continued to grow.
Mayesh now employs over 350 employees in nine states, but continues to stay true to their roots, remaining family owned and operated from the beginning!
We hope you've enjoyed learning a bit more about the company and reminiscing on how much things have changed over the years... we can't wait to see you at our 40th Anniversary Seventies Throwback Celebration on Wednesday, October 31st!
