SHOW NOTES

  • First, tell us a bit more about yourself and your flower story?

  • Your Design Star series on Brand Activation really took us through the process from start to finish. Can you tell us how you got started designing for brands, and how you approach these collaborations now versus at the beginning?

  • What would you say the biggest differences between working with brands and working with brides are?

  • What would your dream brand be to work with?

  • In your first video you discussed pricing, more specifically, knowing your worth and charging to reflect that. Did it take you a while to get to a point where you felt comfortable charging what you really needed to make money, not just break even? For both weddings and brand work.

  • When you’re asked to do something free for “exposure” and you politely decline, are most brands receptive and willing to pay your fee, or do you find that they typically move on?

  • Are there any cases in which you actually do think it would be beneficial to do it for exposure, or are those cases pretty rare?

  • What advice would you give to someone just starting out - who is still building their portfolio and their confidence… should they come right out of the gate charging a higher rate or is it best to work up to it?
