You may have already seen this, but we thought it was too cool not to share ourselves!
On May 1st, in celebration of the city reopening & Small Business Week, San Francisco woke up to thirteen large floral butterfly installations all over the city. The City of San Francisco partnered with the SF Chamber of Commerce and the San Francisco Flower Market to create streets in full bloom.
The SF Flower Market brought in some of the best designers and gave them creative reign to design these amazing butterflies.
Jeanne Boes, GM of the San Francisco Flower Market, was inspired by a New York floral designer who did something similar in the historic Garment District. To coincide with Small Business week, they strategically placed the butterflies near business corridors to help draw foot traffic to these areas and bring people to these local businesses struggling to get back on their feet.
We've said it before, but one silver lining of this whole pandemic has been communities all over coming together to bring joy & beauty back to our cities. Here's a peek at a few of the butterflies!
If you're in the area and want to check them out in person, visit this handy map showing all the butterflys' locations!
