COSTA MESA, Calif. (October 2019) - Stop and smell the roses at South Coast Plaza, where Fleurs de Villes’ floral couture exhibition will be presented exclusively for the first time on the West Coast October 9-13, 2019.
The unique, five-day complimentary exhibition is Fleurs de Villes’ signature event, featuring 16 mannequins dressed in fresh flower ensembles by 16 leading Southern California florists and floral designers, along with a flower market.
“Creativity blooms extravagantly in the collection of floral fashion curated by Fleurs de Villes,” says Debra Gunn Downing, executive director of marketing for South Coast Plaza. “We are thrilled to present this complimentary sensorial event for the first time to the West Coast as part of our ongoing efforts to bring elevated experiences to all our guests from Southern California and all over the world.”
Each lush floral couture is one of a kind, designed and produced especially for the event. Every mannequin showcases a theme: One features a bridal gown while several reflect concepts from South Coast Plaza boutiques and restaurants such as Coach, Diptyque and Yellow Vase, as well as the center’s community, arts and culture partners such as The Westin South Coast Plaza, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Bowers Museum and Sherman Library & Gardens.
In keeping with the meaning of Fleurs de Villes (flowers of cities), eight of the mannequins are clothed in interpretations of stylish cities such as Berlin, Copenhagen, Dubai, Madrid, Milan, Tokyo and Shanghai.
“Fleurs de Villes is a showcase for local, world-class floral design,” says Fleurs de Villes co-founder Karen Marshall. “This fall, we are delighted to partner with South Coast Plaza, a renowned international destination, for our U.S. West Coast debut. Our crowd-drawing pop-up shows are stunning examples of the artistry of flowers and are unique multi-sensory experiences.”
